Tissue Based Reconstruction

Tissue Based Reconstruction: Overview

Some women have minimal excess abdominal tissue or have previously had surgery in this area. Tissue-based reconstruction may still be an option using a different donor site.

Am I A Candidate for Tissue Based Reconstruction?

Plastic Surgery Northwest surgeons have extensive experience using alternate donor sites for tissue-based reconstruction. Your surgeon can determine if the use of an alternate donor site is appropriate for your reconstructive goals.

Alternate Donor Sites

Alternate donor sites include:

Buttock-based flaps

SGAP (superior gluteal artery perforator) flap

IGAP (inferior glueteal artery perforator) flap

Back-based flaps

Latissimus muscle/skin flap

TAP (thoracodorsal artery perforator) flap

LAP (lumbar artery perforator) flap

Thigh-based flaps

TUG (transverse upper gracilis) muscle/skin flap

PAP (profunda artery perforator) flap
